National u13 ranking tournament at Tuks
South Africa’s top u13 girls and boys will be competing for an official ranking
SA Schools Squash Executive decided on a new path for the u13’s and instead of the players attending “the Camp” as they have since 2004, the youngsters will be facing each other in a ranking tournament. The format will be along similar lines to the prestigious SA Schools Closed with only the top 3 players per province being invited to the event. In the boys section, a strong group of 20 boys will be competing for the title. Ranking the players has been a challenge as the boys do not ALL have results between them and using IPT results with strong number 2’s in the mix has made it even more challenging. “The racket will do the talking” as the boys thrash it out over 7 rounds of tough matches. Although a draw of 16 girls and one or two top players staying at home, the girls will also have a hard weekend of squash. They will also be competing in 6 rounds to determine the queen of the court All the boys competing in the event will meet at the Tuks courts at 14h00 on Friday afternoon for their first round of matches to start after the meeting. The girls will meet at 15h00 and start playing after the meeting.
