When I play the drive down the line, the ball often hits the sidewall instead of the front wall. How can I correct it?
There could be a number of reasons why that may happen. It is a technical problem. Remember that the ball goes where the racket goes. If too close the racket head will drop and turn or you could be hitting the ball too far back too late or racket head being left behind. Two key factors that influence the direction of the ball are body position and racket distance from the ball. The racket needs to be held firmly enough to direct the ball straight so that the ball can cling to the side wall. Keep the wrist cocked and locked and begin earlier to hit ball at the correct point.
